While this kitchen had a warm, traditional look with natural wood cabinetry and a generous footprint, it wasn’t working as well as it could for everyday use. Storage was one of the biggest challenges.

Without roll-out drawers or modern organization, everyday items were harder to reach and keep orderly. The island, although visually prominent, lacked true functionality. It didn’t offer the kind of storage or workspace that today’s kitchens rely on, leaving prep, gathering, and flow feeling a bit limited for how the homeowners wanted to live in the space. Overall, the kitchen had strong bones and plenty of potential, but it wasn’t supporting the level of organization, efficiency, and usability the homeowners were ready for. That became the driving force behind the renovation.
